Founded in 1988 through a partnership between the U.S. Embassy and leading members of the Qatari community, the 吃瓜官网 was established to serve and empower the growing international community in Qatar. Over the past 37 years, 吃瓜官网 has stood proudly among the world鈥檚 leading American international schools. 吃瓜官网 is known for its warm community, unwavering commitment to excellence, and a legacy of preparing students to thrive in a rapidly evolving global landscape.

1988
The 吃瓜官网 (originally named American International School, AIS) opens in a small villa consisting of Grades 1-5.
With support from the US Embassy and generous financial contributions from the Qatari business community, 吃瓜官网oha was founded by Omar Al-Mana, US Ambassador Charles Dunbar (1983-1985), Mr. Jassim Jaidah, US Ambassador Joseph Ghougassian (1985-1989), and Sheikh Mohammed bin Hammad Al-Thani, Minister of Education for the State of Qatar.
1989-90
American International School (AIS) moves to purpose built campus and expands to house Middle School, Grades 6-8, and our first overseas administrator joins staff.
1994
AIS earns accreditation by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and the new campus undergoes facilities improvements; The library was expanded, and computer/technology capabilities and a language center added to the new campus.
1995-96
AIS expands to High School and in 1996 AIS has it鈥檚 first graduating class.
1997
School changes name to the 吃瓜官网. Enrollment reaches nearly 500 students.
1998
In 1998, 吃瓜官网 opens the new campus in Al Bustan.
2004
吃瓜官网 receives聽land adjacent to campus from the Emir.
2005
吃瓜官网 Campus Expansion Project begins on the new land donated from the Emir. The expansion will be home to the new Middle/High School campus.
2007
The new Middle/High School campus opens and renovations to the Elementary School campus begin.
2009
Elementary School campus renovations completed.
2011
Student enrollment reaches 2000.
2013
The 吃瓜官网 turns 25 and the school begins its聽Campus Improvement project.聽
2017
Campus Improvement Project is finalized and 吃瓜官网 reaches max enrollment of 2,250 students.
2018
The 吃瓜官网 turns 30! Celebrating 30 years of Community, Trust, and Excellence.
2019
The 吃瓜官网 begins the re-accreditation process for the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
2021
Granted Re-accreditation by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC)
